Seeking Handwork Teacher
Seacoast Waldorf School in Eliot, Maine (serving Early Childhood through 8th grade) is seeking a lead Handwork Teacher effective immediately. This position requires the ability to teach a variety of fiber-related practical arts skills to all grades students. Specific skills required include: knitting, crochet, embroidery/cross stitch, as well as hand and machine sewing. Other helpful skills might include: felting, spinning, weaving, dyeing, etc. The ideal candidate will have Waldorf training or a strong knowledge of the curriculum, a commitment to continued education, and experience working in a classroom setting. The hours are 7.5 hours/week teaching (plus 5 hours/week prep time), which is projected to increase annually as our school grows. Pay is based on experience.
