Seacoast Waldorf School is hiring!

POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

SWS has an opening in the fall for an Early Childhood Kindergarten Afternoon Lead Teacher/Extended Day assistant. This is for a four day lead position, Monday – Thursday, from12:00pm – 3:30pm in the Kindergarten Afternoon Snug Harbor program and would continue as the assistant with Ms Melody in Extended Day up until 5:30pm. The age range in the Afternoon Kindergarten program is 4 years to 6 years old. The applicant will be responsible for creating a daily rhythm, setting up and cleaning up after the Snug Harbor program is finished, as well as maintaining Waldorf standard.

SWS also has an opening for a three day Early Childhood Assistant position opening in the new Nursery with Ms Jennifer. This is a three day position from 8am – 3:30 with an hourly wage.

The ideal candidates would have love and patience for small children, possess Waldorf training or child care related college courses and/or have some previous experience with children. GRADES POSITION AVAILABLE 

SWS is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to teach Mathematics to students in grades six, seven and eight. This candidate will teach Mathematics to students with varied learning needs; will use varied curriculum sources; will teach with an understanding of Waldorf education and Rudolf Steiner’s indications on child development; and will assist in the development of an inspiring and comprehensive middle school Mathematics curriculum. This person will also work as part of a committed team of teachers and be an active member of our school community. This is a paid hourly position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university
  • Some training and/or interest in Waldorf education and engaging in relevant Waldorf teacher training is desirable.
  • At least three years of Math teaching experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, writing and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent in Math
  • Teaching middle school Math in a Waldorf school, private or public school
