Closing Ceremony Car Parade - A wonderful send off for summer!

When faced with the challenge of closing the school year in a way that would honor our children in these unique times, our movement teacher, Martha Coombs, was undaunted. Along with our faculty and the support of the Eliot Police a plan came together to give our families a proper send off for summer.

Around the back of our yellow building is what we call the ring road. We stationed faculty, staff and administration along this road at a safe social distance from each other. Each person was encouraged to create a space with celebratory flair. Some teachers had their families with them. Some held signs, banners and balloons. Some made noise and music. As cars lined up to process through the parade the Eliot Police escorted the line with flashing lights and sirens. Each car slowly made their way along the ring road, saying goodbye to the faculty and staff from the safety of their cars. And ending with an ice cream delivered by Miss Coombs with a lacrosse stick.

Here is a video of our goodbye.
