our Grades Teachers
Bronwyn grew up on a farm in upstate New York. After the opportunity to complete her last two years of High School in Tilton, New Hampshire, Bronwyn remained in New Hampshire and attended the University of New Hampshire where she graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Therapeutic Recreation and went on to earn a Masters in Education.
Haroula took a non-traditional path to becoming a Waldorf teacher, choosing to be a Waldorf grades teacher while attending courses at Antioch University and Rudolf Steiner College of Canada. Haroula has taught at SWS for the past two years, and over the course of her career in both public and private school settings being certified in Grades K-8.
Dennis attended Anderson University in Indiana where he earned a BA in History and Art and Design. After graduation he worked as a journalist for a small, local paper in Maine and began substituting in local public schools, where his love of working with children began. He has worked as an outdoor educator in the White Mountains and on the North Shore of Massachusetts, as well as in special education. Click to read more or to contact Dennis.
Wendy grew up in Wisconsin where she attended a small, liberal arts high school based on the philosophies of Henry David Thoreau, and was first introduced to Waldorf Education during her senior year research project. Frieda spent most of her childhood in a small town outside of Nairobi, Kenya. Her mother was a teacher and her father continued his studies in genetics and following various species in the wild. Frieda graduated from Smith College with a Bachelors in Psychology. She traveled after college for many years and landed in Brooklyn, NY for 8 years working in the hospitality business and various internships in photography.
Luna Longley grew up in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, before returning to New England to study at Boston University, earning a degree in English with a minor in Philosophy. Luna and her husband enjoyed many successful years in Portsmouth’s restaurant industry.
